Idaho Drill Team Association

Home Page

The Idaho Drill Team Association (IDTA) was organized in October of 1999 as an association of men’s, women’s or mixed with two age groups of adult and junior equestrian drill teams based in the state of Idaho.

Our purpose is to unite Idaho teams and individuals who share a common interest in fun, friendly and fair equestrian drill team competition and other related activities. We act as a unified body to provide standardized rules to club members for competition.

Association meetings are held as needed with the time, date and location set by the association. Notice of each meeting can be found on the website’s event page along with the minutes from the previous meeting. The meetings are open to any one, but only two team representatives may vote.

IDTA hosts an annual Idaho State Competition, held usually the second weekend of September. This events includes performances in parade, freestyle, short program, compulsory, teams of 4 and specialty drills. The association also hosts a District Competition that includes freestyle and teams of 4. Other rides and competitions allowing IDTA and non-IDTA member teams to enter are sponsored by individual teams throughout the year. Please visit our website’s events pages for a full schedule of upcoming events.

Annual dues of $75 per team are due at the first meeting of the calendar year. This entitles the team to two representative votes. Officers must be a member of a due paying team. Fees for competitions may be charged above the annual dues and may be different for IDTA and non-IDTA member teams.
